The QUT Tutor’s Working Party

In October 2002, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) hosted an all day event for tutors across the University.  The QUT Tutor’s Working Party focused on collaboration and celebration of the work of tutors from all Faculties.  The working party was designed to both provide professional development opportunities for tutoring staff and to collaborate with them in order to produce the QUT Tutor’s Resource Kit.

The program was hosted at a venue outside QUT and attendees were provided with resources and opportunities to interact with fellow tutors and with unit coordinators responsible for tutor management and development.  The program included:

Coordinated and organised by Teaching and Learning Support Services (TALSS) and supported by the University Teaching and Learning Committee, the program outcomes will be shared across the entire University Community.

A key component of the day was the celebration at the conclusion which focused on recognising the key role tutor’s play in the QUT teaching and learning environment and acknowledging their contribution.
