Phase 1: Program mapping
What do the UQ graduate attributes mean when applied to graduates of
OUR program?
Aim
To translate the UQ generic graduate attribute descriptions into program specific descriptions that capture the aims and aspirations the Faculty or School has for its graduates. These translated graduate attributes become the program graduate attributes.
Process
Through discussion and review of overarching curriculum planning documents, describe how the UQ graduate attributes are/can be translated to have specific meaning for your students or graduates.
Consider the following questions...
- What aspects of each graduate attribute do you believe graduates from your program should develop? (Consider how your program is different from or enhanced as compared with other programs at this University and similar programs offered at other universities.)
- How do professional graduates of your specific field express each graduate attribute in and through their day-to-day professional activities?
Now...
- For each graduate attribute describe its meaning as applied to graduates in your field or discipline. Be as specific or as general as you like.
- Develop a holistic description of graduates from your program/s. Expand that description further using the set of UQ graduate attributes as a basis for developing your program graduate attribute statement.
