The Teaching and Educational Development Institute (TEDI) provides support services and staff development to enhance teaching, learning and other aspects of educational development at The University of Queensland.

TEDI is focused on the needs of University staff and is committed to adopting a shared approach to teaching development. This approach is crucial as The University of Queensland develops and expands its flexible teaching and learning practices.

TEDI Annual Reports provide a comprehensive summary of each year's developments and activities in teaching and learning and professional development.

TEDI employs talented staff who provide consultancy and support for a wide range of educational and professional development needs.

UQ's Teaching and Learning Enhancement Plan 2008-2010 (pdf) seeks to identify, promote and support the unique advantages of the UQ student experience. Its goals are to (1) build an understanding of and commitment to the distinctive features of the UQ student experience, and support initiatives to enrich this experience, (2) support and reward teaching excellence, and raise the professionalism, visibility and status of teaching and learning at UQ, and (3) enrich all aspects of the teaching and learning environment.

The TLEP Implementation Plan (pdf) highlights TEDI’s central role in achieving these goals, either directly (via TEDI-specific accountability for strategies and actions) or indirectly (via collaboration with the DVC T&L and a range of university committees).
