Introduction to evaluation methods and surveys

A range of methods and surveys can be used to collect feedback on courses, programs, teaching, and other aspects of the teaching and learning environment. Open-ended feedback, such as student comment, is collected through qualitative methods while quantitative methods such as surveys provide feedback in the form of numerical ratings or scores. Many evaluations use mixed methods that collect both types of feedback. Standard UQ surveys such as TEVALs and iCEVALs are examples of mixed method evaluations.
