Services offered
The Evaluation Services Unit is engaged in the following types of work:
- Processing and reporting on standard quality assurance instruments such as SETC and SEE
- Disseminating data collected in a manner designed to encourage implementation and enhancement activities
- Developing of evaluation strategies which may include the development and administration of instruments, initial data analysis and development of reports for activities that meet the criteria of being scalable, strategic and sustainable
- Administering and reporting on external surveys that have institutional impact such as AUSSE
- Providing expert advice to academics on developing evaluation strategies
- Developing data files from existing data to encourage evidence-based practices
- Conducting Institutional research projects on innovative teaching and learning practices with the view of developing a body of evidence to support decisions
- Providing capacity building activities in qualitative data collection and analysis and quantitative data analysis through staff development workshops
- Conducting research and development in educational and evaluation research and in evidence-based practice
- Liaising and communicating with key stakeholders such as Associate Deans (Academic) and chairs of school teaching and learning committees to ensure the needs of the University are being met
- Supporting the development of policy and processes to ensure a streamlined process that is useful to the community
