About assessment

Assessment is the process of finding out and, in many cases, putting a value on a student's achievements in studying a course or a program. Assessment tends, all else being equal, to drive students' efforts to learn in a course. Through feedback on their attempts at assessment tasks, assessment can also be a central tool to help students learn in a course.

For information on UQ assessment policies and practices visit the Handbook of University Policies and Procedures.
